About The Position

PRIMARY ROLE: Assist production manager to supervise 20-25 personnel in the manufacturing shop in three different departments: Fabrication, Assembly, Shipping. Maintain thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes and equipment, while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all employees in the departments.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Business Administration. Prefer a 4-year degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years previous work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools and basic skills of maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills to be able manage and guide to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Technical knowledge of the manufacturing process and to be able to troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent communication skills between various departments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a production schedule
  • Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily production scheduling.
  • Participates in all safety related activities.
  • Lead all Manufacturing Related Activities.
  • Responsible for quality control and producing quality products. Identify product for rejection and rework to ensure all customers receive product that meets company standards.
  • Provide training to all department personnel as it relates to safety, quality, production, and equipment operation. May delegate some training functions to other experienced employees or department leads.
  • Responsible for achieving production efficiency in all departments by: Monitoring Production Efficiencies, Meeting Department Goals, Identify Continuous Improvements and Share Labor across departments.
  • Work / Consult with Human Resources on Hiring and Dismissal of all manufacturing positions, Attendance of personnel and Personnel Issues or Concerns
  • Help build and manage a “True Cost” manufacturing system that is used to determine each item’s true cost.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean production floor and equipment cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and others to solve production related problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary business and employee information.
