About The Position

This specialized role is centered on Production daily operations and Metrology support for various teams, including Process and Manufacturing Engineers, Vehicle Quality, and Supplier Quality Engineers. The individual will be responsible for ensuring Zoox meets and maintains high-quality standards, training new associates, and facilitating knowledge and technical skill transfer. The role operates within a fast-paced environment, offering the opportunity to develop diverse skills while making an immediate and significant contribution to the future of Ride-Hailing and Urban Transportation In This Role, You Will: Program and operate Portable Coordinate Measurement Machines (PCMM) using PolyWorks and other metrology software Support engineering teams by collecting measurement data for design validation using CMM and PCMM Inspect parts and assemblies to verify compliance with design specifications Support manufacturing teams in validating and certifying production fixtures Maintain inspection records and reports to enable statistical process analysis Troubleshoot and resolve CMM and PCMM-related issues as they arise Calibrate, inspect, and maintain CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability Ensure measurement traceability and compliance with company quality management systems Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments, including automotive or other highly regulated industries

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in PCMM programming with PolyWorks, including hands-on experience using Hexagon or Faro metrology tools
  • 5+ years of experience in DCC CMM programming with PCDMIS software, including hands-on experience with Hexagon or Faro metrology tools (Dual Arm CMM is a plus)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T, ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience creating and approving first article inspections, with working knowledge of the required inspection tools
  • Ability to identify and recognize inspection errors and nonconformances, and initiate corrective action

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ATOS Blue Light System is a plus
  • Catia 3Dx experience and expertise
  • Gap and flush measurement using Gap Gun, Laser Gauge, or Calipri
  • Strong SPC knowledge (CM4D, QDM)
  • Design X reverse engineering software

Responsibilities
