About The Position

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees. FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. The Position Calibrate measuring equipment on schedule & in accordance with corporate & local requirements. Provide troubleshooting, problem solving & project support for measuring equipment site wide. Support training for lower-level peers & demonstrate subject matter expertise in assigned area. Please note this role will start as a M-F day shift; The current hours are 7am -3:30pm with flexibility required dependent upon the needs of the company and project demands. This is a shift position that will transition to either Days 2-2-3 (6am to 630pm) or Nights 2-2-3 (6pm to 630am) schedule as the site moves into operations at a later designated date. Relationships Reports to the Supervisor/Manager Metrology.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related engineering or science discipline from an accredited university required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant metrology/calibration work experience required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of thorough understanding of instrumentation & control systems required
  • May consider a High School Diploma with eight (8) years of relevant metrology/calibration work experience and eight (8) years of thorough understanding of instrumentation & control systems required
  • Competencies in the following areas: Calibration, Instrumentation & Controls, Electro-Mechanical systems & Electronics required
  • Ability to calibrate process and utility instrumentation required
  • Experience using electronic calibration management systems such as SAP, Blue Mountain RAM, ProCal, MAXIMO, etc. Required
  • Able to read & apply schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting required

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to write technical documents, instructions & reports preferred
  • High level of organization in task management preferred
  • Working knowledge of handling & accounting for measurement uncertainty preferred
  • Demonstrates logical planning for task execution & follow-up preferred

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate & repair temperature, pressure, conductivity, humidity, pH, TOC, flow, mass & frequency measuring equipment
  • Lead, conduct, & participate in systematic problem solving.
  • Support cross-functional investigations in all customer areas
  • Perform simple metrology related projects in the department
  • Accurately & legibly records all activities in appropriate documentation.
  • Write work orders
  • Lead calibration activities as scheduled, supported by the Metrology Lead
  • Review documentation for accuracy & completeness
  • Process confirms calibration activities are performed per standards
  • Operate & handle calibration working standards with care & expertise
  • Address safety, quality, staffing, or personnel issues & escalate to Supervisor if necessary
  • Drive improvements in calibration methods and standards
  • Able to perform or participate in CR's (Change Request) related to Metrology/Calibration process
  • Attain & maintain aseptic clean room certification
  • Identify deviations per proper procedures for measuring equipment
  • Lead in systematic problems solving
  • Provide support to process owners for measuring equipment
  • Execute work according to schedule & department plan
  • Evaluate measuring equipment performance & respond to potential issues
  • Contribute to process confirmations
  • Maintain training qualifications on time
  • Support training others as required
  • Support other department roles as needed
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned
