Specific Job Description: We are seeking an energetic and inspiring leader who can deliver to our FBM commits of today while we transition to the future FBM of tomorrow! In this Manager role, you will join our Leadership Team and help lead our talented and diverse calibration team at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) in Silverdale, WA. You will: -Lead and manage a department of approximately 20 employees - comprised of both salaried employees and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) represented Calibration Technicians -Manage strategic and short-term tactical lab tasks and initiatives associated with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives -Manage and communicate lab related issues effectively across various levels of leadership (LM and Customer) -Partner with our embedded government oversight organization to support a wide variety of Navy calibration customers -Optimize and adapt lab resources and services to ensure proper elements of safety and technical compliance while meeting dynamic customer needs -Provide a strong focus on a safe work environment. Maintain and enhance personnel training, protective equipment and operating procedures -Form and shape the culture of our workforce by fostering an adaptive and inclusive work environment -Promptly respond to issues that arise within the lab floor – such as incident root cause analysis and corrective action -Conduct hiring, training, and development of department staffing Maintain a positive learning environment by continually focusing on a culture of training and development of lab personnel in Metrology. They are a great communicator and enjoy working with others in a collaborative environment. This position is at the Navy's Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFLANT) in Silverdale, WA. Occasional overtime and weekend support is needed. Some travel is expected to other FBM sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a managerial, supervisory or leadership role
  • Proven knowledge of calibration principles, methods and standards
  • Quality/Engineering leadership experience in a calibration lab
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance to support this government contract. No clearance is required to apply. An interim Secret clearance is required prior to start

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing salaried employees along with a represented workforce and labor relations
  • Familiarity with United States Navy and/or Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) calibration requirements
  • Familiarity with US Navy and international metrology standards
  • Experience with audit preparation and execution, related calibration program accreditations and certifications
  • Experience with Earned Value Management principles
  • Self-starter and ability to work through an issue to closure
  • Proven track record of promoting a OneLM culture
  • Full Spectrum Leadership experience
  • Strong communication skills able to adapt to a variety of audiences and levels
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and/or Green Belt certification
  • Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance
