About The Position

You will be the Metrologist Staff Salary Lead for GSO Calibration Lab. As the Metrologist Staff Salary Lead you will lead the creation of robust calibration methods and quality control processes, ensure confidence in measurement results across the organization. You'll identify error sources, evaluate their impact on variability, and apply measurement science principles to maintain the highest standards of accuracy. Your responsibilities will include: - You will manage Calibration scheduling and hourly metrologist assignments and support. - Support, coordinate site/offsite customers with calibrated equipment needs. - Act as the subject matter expert for hourly metrologist team needs. - Support and prepare audit artifacts for onsite and third-party auditors - Design and develop calibration procedures for a wide range of testing/measurable parameters. - Evaluate measurement results to pinpoint error sources and quantify their contribution to variability. - Implementing and overseeing quality control procedures that guarantee consistent, high quality measurements. - Conducting validation studies to verify confidence levels and traceability of calibration processes. - Collaborating with engineering, product, and quality teams to integrate calibrated data into downstream applications. - Continuously improving calibration techniques and staying current with industry standards and best practices. - Providing technical guidance and training to junior staff and cross functional partners. - Manage AMCS forecasting, department throughput metrics, and tool out-of-tolerance reporting. Requirements

  • Proven self‑starter with demonstrated team‑lead experience, able to motivate and coordinate diverse technical groups.
  • Strong analytical background: skilled at interpreting complex data sets and developing practical solutions to technical challenges.
  • Hands‑on experience in metrology and calibration, covering a full spectrum of measurement instrumentation and processes.
  • Prior experience conducting internal and external audits, including preparation of audit reports and corrective‑action tracking.
  • In‑depth knowledge of ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards, with a track record of implementing and maintaining compliant quality management systems.
  • This role will require the applicant to get a Secret Clearance/ Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • STEM Associates Degree or higher /BS degree in management, metrology discipline Working experience in:
  • Aerospace Standard AS9100D
  • Indy Soft (Calibration Management System)
  • Out of Tolerance Notification system experience
  • Calibrated equipment reliability reviews and interval adjustments
  • Pyrometry/Heat Treat Training, calibration related experience
  • Current Secret Security Clearance
