Overview The Metrologist/Calibration Specialist is responsible for managing and executing calibration and measurement activities across all Navitas manufacturing and operational sites. This role ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements, supports internal and external audits, and maintains the integrity of measurement systems and equipment. The Metrologist/Calibration Specialist plays a key role in precision measurement, dimensional analysis, and calibration of electronic and mechanical equipment, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of Navitas products. This position requires close collaboration with Plant Quality Managers, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, as well as direct engagement with suppliers and external calibration service providers.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, metrology, or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025 and calibration system implementation
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
  • Familiarity with electronic and mechanical calibration standards and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurement
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and understanding of dimensional analysis
  • Experience with calibration software and data management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in ISO 17025 compliance and audit preparation
  • Hands-on experience with CMM operation and PolyWorks software
  • Experience with battery manufacturing or electronics calibration
  • Certified Calibration Technician or equivalent certification
  • Experience with measurement uncertainty analysis
  • Experience with statistical analysis software

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific calibration and measurement requirements
  • Manage and maintain all electronic, mechanical, and dimensional measuring equipment
  • Operate metrology-grade handheld 3D laser scanner and analyze the data using PolyWorks software for dimensional inspection and analysis
  • Operate portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) – Faro Arm
  • Maintain calibration records, certificates, and traceability documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Support internal and external audits related to calibration and measurement systems
  • Develop and implement procedures for calibration, measurement uncertainty, and equipment verification
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to support product validation and root cause analysis through precise measurement data
  • Provide technical support for GD&T interpretation and dimensional analysis
  • Coordinate with external calibration vendors and ensure timely service and compliance
  • Train and support site-level personnel in calibration practices and measurement techniques
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to calibration and measurement system performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to measurement accuracy, equipment reliability, and process capability
  • Travel to manufacturing sites as needed to support calibration activities, audits, and training
  • Other duties as assigned by senior leadership
