About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Meteorology and Oceanography Training / Curriculum Standards Subject Matter Expert (METOC) to join our NIWTG team. This position will require 50% of support at CNIWTG HQ N5 at JEBLC and 50% of support at IWTD Norfolk at Norfolk Naval Base. Key Responsibilities Serve as liaison between IWTG leadership, government staff, and contractor teams for the development and maintenance of training courses and associated instructional materials. Design, write, and develop instructional content and learning materials that support effective and engaging learning experiences. Develop and review learning objectives and training goals for both new and existing curricula. Apply the Plan, Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (PADDIE) methodology across the full lifecycle of course development. Convert and adapt instructional materials across multiple delivery formats, including instructor-led training, eLearning, virtual instruction, and blended learning. Develop and maintain performance support materials such as online knowledge bases, job aids, quick reference guides, and other digital learning resources. Apply learning theory and instructional design principles to optimize training effectiveness. Support the evaluation of training programs using established evaluation methods and metrics. Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously. Conduct “train-the-trainer” sessions in classroom, virtual, or remote environments to support training implementation. Assist the government with the integration of instructional software and technologies within the IWTG enterprise. Analyze, interpret, and synthesize technical source material into clear, concise, and effective instructional products.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • 10+ years demonstrated expertise in the field of Meteorology.
  • 8 years of Naval Experience with Fleet Weather experience.
  • Familiarity with the Navy Curriculum Development Process and NAVEDTRA 130B series standards.
  • Experience developing or converting training materials into Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), blended learning, or modern courseware delivery formats.
  • Knowledge of learning theory, instructional design, and instructional technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience applying the PADDIE instructional design methodology throughout the course development lifecycle.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information into well-written instructional content.
  • Knowledge of training evaluation methodologies and the ability to implement multiple levels of evaluation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material intowell-written, concise learning products.
  • Knowledge and ability to implement various evaluation levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully individually, within a team, and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior military experience supporting Meteorology.
