The Metalworking Field Sales Representative will execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify needs and sell appropriate metalworking and machine tools to meet those needs.
Requirements
- 5 plus years of Machining background, manufacturing experience, or strong mechanical abilities
- Computer literate, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing, and dynamic work environment.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Works well in a group/team setting with limited amounts of supervision.
- Prior experience in Industrial Sales and/or Distribution
- 5 years plus experience with metal cutting tooling and or grinding.
- Prior experience with CNC programming and operating.
- Prior experience with machining process improvement and cost savings documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for metalworking applications.
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
- Manage assigned accounts.
- Call prospective customers and establish buying cycles, customer needs, and create a customer-supplier relationship.
- Increase sales in respective accounts.
- Prepare sales information for customers.
- Establish buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for assigned accounts.
- Secure and place orders taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment.
- Determine clients’ requirements and expectations, recommend specific products, services, and/or solutions.
- Ability to develop strategic plans and accurate forecasts for accounts.
- Proactively recommend items needed by clients to increase efficiency and improve transaction profitability.
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering featured promotional sale items.
- Educate clients about terminology, features, and benefits of products in order to improve product-related sales and client satisfaction.
- Contact clients following sales to ensure ongoing client satisfaction and resolve and complaint.
- Remain current on client preferences, changes in local codes, and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, and reading trade journals.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other members of the team.
- Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, CRM tools, and other office equipment and software.
- Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors.
