Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River in Iowa, the plant employs 2,400 people and is a focal point of the global aluminum industry, with 25 percent of revenues coming from exports. Through continued modernization, including a $500 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world’s premier aerospace and automotive supply plant. The Metal Supply and Inventory Analyst position is responsible for the tactical management of supplies that support daily operations in the ingot cast house. This individual will work directly with other supply chain personnel, the ingot plant production team, the Arconic central materials procurement group and the materials supplier base. They are responsible for the execution of the following functions, examples include but are not limited to: Responsibilities Manage inventories, balance production requirements to planned inventory levels. Work with operations to adjust strategies as needed. Assist with development of material requirement forecasts to support the ingot cast house goals and objectives. Continuously monitor changes in forecasts and casting demand to identify and communicate necessary changes to supply flow. Work closely with Scrap Flow leader and Operations team to facilitate and assist timely scrap ship-outs and receipts Work closely with all parties involved in the commercial metals process including buyers, suppliers, accounting, material receiving, and engineered store owners. Drive inventory accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Provide monthly forecasts for material consumption Active participant in the Materials Daily Management meeting between ingot supply chain and ingot operating groups Assist in Ingot Plant interim inventory activities Assist with special projects related to the efficiency of scrap and raw material movement. Identify and implement opportunities for waste reduction. Facilitate monthly inventories with external auditors for accuracy. Daily data analysis and reporting for past performance. Identify challenges and lead teams for resolution. Develop skills to function as back-up for other Supply Chain ingot plant functions, including cast house scheduling. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a broad range of individuals and functions both inside and outside the organization Microsoft Office knowledge especially in Word and Excel Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
