Mercy Street exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through our Sports, Mentoring, and Leadership Institute Programs. Mercy Street serves over 3,100 children annually in West and South Dallas who are primarily Dallas Housing Authority residents and Dallas ISD students. Since 2003, Mercy Street has been working to address the historical low educational attainment and generational poverty experienced by families in West Dallas, one of the most concentrated areas of poverty in our city. In 2019, Mercy Street expanded into South Dallas where there are similar needs. Mercy Street is focused on serving students and families in Dallas Housing Authority communities (public housing) within the city. Mercy Street is focused on addressing historical low educational attainment and generational poverty experienced by our students and families. Mercy Street builds community and individual support through our program offerings which include Mercy Street Sports foster character development, Mercy Street Mentoring, and the Mercy Street Leadership program provides paid internship opportunities focused on preparing them for life after graduation Further help on this page can be found by clicking here. Member Duties : Mercy Street serves children in West and South Dallas who are primarily Dallas Housing Authority residents and Dallas ISD students. Mercy Street works to address the historical low educational attainment and generational poverty experienced by families in West Dallas, one of the most concentrated areas of poverty in Dallas. VISTA will research multi-source fundraising strategies for similar sized and scoped organizations. VISTA will create and procedural development documents to establish a strong foundations and corporate partners database. VISTA will participate in development and implementation of end of year giving campaign. VISTA will develop a fundraising plan for active volunteers. The Fundraising & Development VISTA will create systems to increase fundraising and development outcomes to expand the reach of Mercy Street's antipoverty programming. This position will report in-person/on-site 5 days a week.
