About The Position

The Inventory Specialist supports inventory control operations across assigned retail locations, ensuring accurate stock tracking, timely replenishment, and compliance with company standards. This role executes inventory procedures, assists with variance resolution, and provides analytical support to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize shrink, and enhance profitability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, retail stock control, or warehouse operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred (may count toward experience requirement).
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar inventory management systems.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (data entry, reporting, VLOOKUP preferred).
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes, loss prevention, and retail operations.
  • Ability to walk extensively across warehouses and retail locations.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly; frequent bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels in warehouse and retail environments.
  • PPE use as required (e.g., safety shoes, gloves, high-visibility vests).
  • Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in inventory counts and documentation.
  • Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret basic inventory reports and identify discrepancies.
  • Time Management – Prioritizes tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Works well with cross-functional teams and provides clear updates.
  • Problem-Solving – Identifies and resolves inventory issues promptly.
  • Flexible availability required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays for inventory counts and operational support.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security credentials if required by location.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP and other inventory management systems; ensure real-time stock visibility across assigned locations.
  • Conduct scheduled cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventories; reconcile variances and report discrepancies to the Retail Inventory Manager.
  • Inspect incoming merchandise for accuracy and quality; process returns for overstock, defective, or expired items in compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist in placing replenishment orders based on sales trends and established reorder points; monitor stock levels to prevent out-of-stock situations.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize shrink; identify and report loss patterns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support analysis of inventory KPIs such as turnover rates, stock levels, and shrink percentages; assist in preparing reports for management review.
  • Partner with warehouse, merchandising, and store teams to ensure accurate planogram execution, product placement, and timely replenishment.
  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to inventory handling and storage.
  • Assist with inventory optimization initiatives, stock rotation, and product organization to support sales objectives and operational efficiency.
