About The Position

As Shop LC’s Merchandising Assistant for the jewelry merchandising team, you will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the jewelry merchandising team in all aspects of procurement when it comes to invoices, sourcing, buying, vendor relations, product shipments, data tracking, entry, etc. The Merchandising Assistant will report directly to the Director of Merchandising.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively utilize various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite   (knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Experience in retail environment. Desire to learn about sales-driven industry and be able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of international sourcing, with an emphasis on China, India, Africa, and South America.
  • Ability to read and interpret invoices.
  • Attention to detail, Excellent analytical, professional and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory control by tracking samples and updating inventory records.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of pre orders and replenishment of jewelry items.
  • Generate reports on sales performance, inventory turnover, and other key metrics.
  • Conduct research on current jewelry trends, customer preferences, and competitive analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the merchandising team based on market findings.
  • Support the team in creating item codes.
  • Manage purchase orders and resolve any issues related to shipments or product discrepancies.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining merchandising materials and product samples.
  • Work closely with the merchandising team, sales associates, and marketing departments to ensure cohesive strategies and communication.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new merchandising ideas.
