About The Position

To support our Merchandise Planning team we are searching for a (Senior) Merchandise Planner to be based in our Milan office.

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Business administration or equivalent education.
  • Significant experience in merchandise planning or buying, preferably within a fashion or e-commerce company.
  • Strong team spirit, empathy, and open-mindedness. International experience is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and numerical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for numbers.
  • Proactive and flexible with a "hands-on" mentality and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Reliable, autonomous, and possesses strong organizational skills. Project management skills are a plus.
  • Advanced level of Excel skills and experience with BI tools; programming skills are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal budget targets by category, collaborating closely with the Finance and Buying teams at each stage of the planning process.
  • Monitor weekly trade performance and intake, providing insightful analysis and recommendations for trading actions across all categories to drive sales and optimize stock, in close collaboration with Buying, Digital Merchandising, and brand partners.
  • Manage markdown and promotional activities for current and old season inventory to achieve sales targets and optimize stock positions while adhering to margin targets.
  • Identify and drive optimizations of working tools and processes to improve efficiencies and support long-term business growth, contributing to the development of best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with other Merchandise Planning teams, sharing expertise and contributing to the implementation of best practices. May contribute to the development of training materials and documentation.
  • Actively participate in strategic projects in collaboration with management and other departments, providing merchandise planning expertise.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and generate reports to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
