About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of San Diego, a Penske Automotive Group dealership, is looking for experienced Flat Rate Technicians to join our team and deliver extraordinary customer experiences. We are hiring immediately, with a sign-on bonus opportunity of up to $10,000 and potential relocation assistance for candidates moving from outside the San Diego area. As a Flat Rate Technician, you will perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards while providing an exceptional customer experience. Pay for this position is based on productivity and qualifications. It starts at a flat rate of $36 to $55 per hour. The expected pay is $75,000 to $180,000 per year.

Requirements

Safe, working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
Minimum 3 years of dealership experience, preferably with Mercedes-Benz or other luxury European brands.
High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
All applicants must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

ASE Certification is preferred
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a world-class service experience throughout the customer's ownership journey.
Apply exceptional technical knowledge and expertise to meet factory and dealership standards.
Clearly communicate technical findings to Service Advisors.
Ensure accuracy in all estimates, work orders, repairs, and maintenance.
Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and hazardous-waste handling.
