About The Position

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Manager is responsible for overseeing all MEP aspects of commercial construction projects, ensuring systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to project specifications, codes, and industry standards. This role manages MEP subcontractors, coordinates with design teams, and ensures quality, schedule, and budget compliance across multiple projects. The MEP Manager serves as the company’s technical lead for all building systems and works closely with project management, field teams, and clients to deliver high-performance facilities.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering or related field.
  • Five (5+) years of experience managing MEP systems on commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex MEP systems and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and controls.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of design documents, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of all MEP systems on commercial construction projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise MEP engineers, designers, and field personnel to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Select, manage, and coordinate MEP subcontractors; review scopes of work, schedules, and performance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to review drawings, submittals, and design changes for constructability and compliance.
  • Monitor MEP budgets, track costs, and ensure projects remain on schedule; provide recommendations for resource allocation and cost control.
  • Ensure all MEP work complies with company quality standards, safety protocols, and applicable codes; conduct site inspections and quality reviews.
  • Oversee system testing, startup, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring operational performance and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for MEP-related discussions with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams; provide regular project updates.
  • Identify potential issues or conflicts in MEP systems and implement corrective actions to maintain project performance.
  • Maintain accurate records, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and commissioning documentation; provide executive-level reporting on MEP performance and progress.
