Do you strive to always provide recommendations in the best interest of the client? The MEP Estimator must have a full understanding of MEP systems and components and be able to scope and analyze MEP bids. In addition, they are responsible for the estimate development which includes assisting the team on larger projects if necessary.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years’ experience in MEP and construction estimating.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction related field or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of MEP market, equipment suppliers and subcontractor base.
  • Understand MEP systems and components, and be able to scope and analyze MEP bids
  • Project experience to include complex renovations, ground up and build outs
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery methods
  • Solid conceptual estimating experience

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the project team to plan the job prior to project initiation i.e. procurement issues, logistics, etc.
  • Review drawings and generate drawing review comments that indicate constructability issues, value engineering, incomplete scope of work and dimensional problems to ensure timely correction and early detection of any potential issues
  • Produce MEP estimating budgets ensuring all components are included and price estimates are accurate and realistic
  • Provide MEP budgets from conceptual documents making certain all MEP systems are accurately estimated and all system components are included
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and deploy this throughout the estimating process
  • Ensure that the information required to begin the estimating process is accurate and available
