About The Position
The Mental Therapy Aide provides direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient Children/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, supporting nursing staff in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and delivering age-appropriate behavioral and clinical support.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant psychiatric or behavioral health experience
- Current CPR certification
- EMR experience and strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of experience
- Pediatric or adolescent psychiatric experience
- Prior inpatient healthcare experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care, ADLs, vitals, admissions, exams, specimen collection, intake/output, and patient transport
- Observe patient behavior, report changes, and document in EMR
- Provide therapeutic interaction, crisis intervention, and patient orientation
- Maintain patient safety, perform safety checks, and support unit operations
