About The Position

The Mental Health Worker III participates in the patient/family care and experience through teamwork, effective communication, and skills under the direction of an RN. This role provides support to ensure both the psychiatric and physical care of the patients are met, focusing on direct patient care.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
• Accredited Program for Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) OR Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Required
• Prior experience in a psychiatric or mental health facility in the delivery of direct patient care as is typically acquired in 1 year
• Knowledge of basic nursing aide functions, such as assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, and documentation of observations
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in an ever changing environment under the direction of the RN
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to obtain patients vital sign, assist with activities of daily living and documentation of observations made

• Includes the full scope of practice consistent with LVN/LPT licensure
