About The Position

The Oregon State Hospital, Pendleton Cottage, in Pendleton, Oregon, is seeking applicants for the position of Mental Health Therapy Coordinator. This role involves managing the 24-hour staffing schedule to ensure the facility's needs are met. The coordinator will assign, oversee, and coordinate the non-clinical and non-nursing work assignments of Mental Health Therapists, ensuring accuracy, task completion, and adherence to policies and procedures. Additionally, the position includes performing administrative, scheduling, and direct care functions to facilitate the efficient daily operation of the facility. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in the care and treatment of mentally, emotionally, and/or behaviorally impaired clients
  • Associate or a bachelor’s degree in social science (such as social work, human services, psychology, child development, gerontology, health, or health education) may be substituted for one year of the required experience
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license
  • Must possess QMHA (Qualified Mental Health Associate) certification or willing to obtain within the first month of employment
  • Must possess CPR and First Aid certifications or willing to obtain within the first month of employment
  • Must possess Safe Together certification or willing to obtain within the first month of employment

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to effectively engage with diverse individuals in various settings
  • The ability to think proactively and address potential issues before they occur
  • Experience working with individuals with persistent and chronic mental health conditions, including Personality Disorders
  • Experience working with forensic populations
  • Experience in facilitating and instructing groups within the framework of the Recovery Model
  • Experience in administering medications
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
