Role Overview Independent Contractor Therapists provide outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, psychiatric nursing, social work, etc.).
- Current, unrestricted initial license (tLMHC, LMSW, LPC, LSW) in Iowa or Illinois, depending on work location.
- Master’s degree in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, psychiatric nursing, social work, etc.).
- Current, unrestricted independent license (LISW, LMHC, LCPC, LCSW) in Iowa or Illinois, depending on work location.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ability to learn other software.
- Ability to physically attend to children in moments of difficulty.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health evaluations and establish diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Complete discharge planning and clinical summaries
- Coordinate care with families, schools, medical providers, case managers, and community resources
- Support continuity of care and appropriate transitions
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation using the agency’s EHR
- Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional standards, as well as documentation requirements associated with insurance and regulatory guidelines
