Mental Health Technician- 2nd shift
About The Position
At Devereux, as a Mental Health Technician you will impact the individuals you are working with by unlocking their full potential on a daily basis by developing independent living skill and social skills to improve interactions in their daily lives. As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting, supporting and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.
Requirements
- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and two year’s direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling.
- Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.

- Engage in daily activities such as Recreational and Social Activities that enhance social skill development.
- Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
- Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.
