About The Position

As a Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Ridgeview Institute Monroe, you will be an integral part of the treatment team, providing continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups from adolescents to geriatrics. Working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to creating a therapeutic environment that fosters patient support and well-being. Ridgeview Institute Monroe (RIM) is a leading mental health care hospital in Monroe, GA, dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in psychiatric treatment since 2017. The hospital offers a full continuum of care, including specialized programs for adolescents, adults, and older adults, including a specialized women's program. Requirements

  • Certified Nursing or NAR required
  • Successful completion of CPR certification and crisis intervention training within 10 days of employment before assisting with restraining procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred
  • One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record vital signs
  • Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN
  • Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision
  • Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques
  • Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene
  • Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
