About The Position

Ridgeview Institute Monroe is seeking an empathetic and dedicated Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join their full-time treatment team. In this role, you will provide continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups, from adolescents to geriatrics, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will contribute to creating a therapeutic environment that fosters patient support and well-being, making a meaningful difference in the lives of a diverse patient population. Ridgeview Institute Monroe (RIM) is a leading mental health care hospital in Monroe, GA, dedicated to excellence in psychiatric treatment since 2017. Requirements

  • Certified Nursing or NAR required
  • Successful completion of CPR certification and crisis intervention training within 10 days of employment before assisting with restraining procedures

Nice To Haves

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred
  • One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record vital signs
  • Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN
  • Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision
  • Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques
  • Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene
  • Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities
