About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mental Health Counselor to join our SLO-Hub program. Under the direction of the SLO-Hub Program Supervisor and in collaboration with the contract clinical supervisor, you will provide assessment and therapeutic intervention for clients. Your expertise in psychotherapy and various treatment modalities will be crucial in supporting individuals with dual-diagnosed disorders. What you bring to the table: Must be fluent in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following licenses: Licensed Marriage Family Therapist Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate Clinical Social Worker Clinical Psychologist Associate Professional Clinical Counselor
  • AA/AS Degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling at least 5 years in administrative/financial roles.
  • Must be fluent in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data entry, payment systems, accounts payable, or other finance/information technology areas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary mental health evaluations and complete required GPRA assessments
  • Develop and implement effective, individualized treatment plans using appropriate therapeutic modalities
  • Provide counseling and therapy services in clinic, recovery housing, community settings, and non‑traditional environments; may include evenings or weekends
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members (Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists) and external community partners
  • Maintain accurate, timely case documentation, client records, and required statistics while ensuring confidentiality
  • Collect and submit grant‑required data and reports within established timelines
  • Monitor client progress through ongoing assessments and follow‑up services
  • Stay current on best practices for working with dual‑diagnosis clients through training and professional development
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources to support client treatment and recovery
  • Participate in program evaluation activities, community meetings, and required reporting
  • Adhere to organizational policies, safety practices, and CAPSLO’s mission and values
