The Mental Health Counselor position is part of the Specialty Health Care Department and is a full-time role working day shift hours, Monday through Friday, approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period. This position includes weekend and call responsibilities as needed. The counselor provides individualized and group support to clients, assisting them in managing mental health challenges, developing coping strategies, and achieving personal growth while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work (LISW), or Licensed Professional Counselor/Clinical Resident (LPCC)
  • Current state credentials and licensure required for practice
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy, particularly in stressful situations
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on urgency and clinical judgment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Commitment to patient advocacy and maintaining confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMDR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to clients and patients
  • Conduct interviews, observations, and assessments to develop personalized treatment plans
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies and addressing personal challenges
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress and relevant reports
  • Monitor client well-being and adjust treatment approaches as necessary
  • Serve as an advocate to ensure clients receive appropriate support and services
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a unified approach to patient care
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards
