About The Position

The Mental Health Counselor provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions and services to children and their families to address a wide range of identified behavioral and emotional concerns. Responsibilities include conducting intakes and assessments, as well as providing individual and family counseling services. Services are delivered virtually, at Houston-area office locations (including our Texas City Family Resouce Center, up to five days per week), and potentially schools across the Houston area, including Baytown.

Requirements

Master’s in social work or related human services field.
Fully licensed as an LMSW; or
Provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate, or LMFT-Associate.
Passed licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate.
Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within 90 days of hire.
English Required.
Ability to relate well to children and families in crisis.
Comfortable with complexity, advocacy, and mediation.
Strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good paperwork and organizational skills.
Ability to submit all documentation electronically and in the office timely.
Knowledge of social work practices.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with fellow staff and referral sources.
Ability to maintain a professional, confidential working environment.
Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and work force.
Ability to work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
Must have reliable personal transportation, valid Texas driver license and current auto insurance.
