About The Position

Join our team as a School-Based Mental Health Clinician and play a pivotal role in fostering the mental wellness of students across Weld County. In this dynamic position, you’ll provide critical mental health support directly in schools, ensuring students, families, and educators have access to the tools and resources needed to thrive. By delivering therapy, crisis intervention, and case management, you’ll help young individuals navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, substance use, and more. You’ll be part of a collaborative effort to build strong coping behaviors, foster social skills, and create a positive, resilient school culture. Together with educators, you’ll identify early signs of mental health needs and implement strategies to address them effectively. Support services include individual, group and family therapy, crisis intervention and coordinated treatment plans, case management and family engagement, screening, assessments, and resource referrals. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurability requirements.
  • Successful completion of background, fingerprinting, and drug testing

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
  • No prior experience is required, though it’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, goal planning, and treatment for mental health and/or substance use issues, utilizing required instruments and formats within appropriate timelines.
  • Develop and update strength-based treatment plans, continuing care plans, and discharge summaries; make timely referrals.
  • Observe clients, assess diagnoses and mental status, and implement treatment plans based on clients’ needs and functioning levels.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, law enforcement, external providers, and psychiatrists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Work with clients on safety planning, symptom management, support system identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Teach clients behavioral skills, coping strategies, and problem-solving techniques to improve well-being and daily functioning.
  • Support evidence-based practices to ensure effective interventions within the program.
  • Provide case management and refer clients to additional resources (e.g., vocational, medical, housing, residential treatment).
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records, ensuring ethical coding and billing in compliance with agency standards.
