About The Position

The Mental Health Clinician provides high quality outpatient mental health services and in-home counseling for children and their families. He/she will be supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. He/she will display professional skills in diagnosis and assessment, case management, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and utilization review. The Mental Health Clinician will provide outpatient mental health services in the form of individual, child and family therapy, groups, and home-based child welfare services. He/she will operate in accordance with all regulations and standards of the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Child and Family Services.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year's experience in an academic internship delivering outpatient mental health services.
  • M.A. degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Valid registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Social Worker, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, or registration with the Board of Psychology as a Registered Psychologist (within 45 days of employment)
  • Fire Safety within the first 90 days of employment
  • ACSW, AMFT, APCC or Registered Psychologist (within 45 days of employment).
  • May be required to answer pages, carry a beeper/pager
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills
