About The Position

ID#31203A, 31269A, 31271A, 31270A. The Mental Health Clinician provides a range of services as part of the treatment team. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Mental Health Clinician provides assessment, individual/family/group therapy, along with rehabilitation services while ensuring that all members of the treatment team are working collaboratively.

Requirements

Master of Social Work degree in counseling, social work, or related field – BBS licensed eligible required, and a current Associate Clinical Social Worker ACSW or AMFT registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a mental health setting working with children and families. Community mental health experience desirable. Experience with severely emotionally disturbed desirable.
Must pass Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
Valid California Driver’s License is required. Must meet guidelines of agency’s driving criteria (i.e. Proof of liability insurance, minimal moving violations, driving record free of DUI’s or reckless driving in the last 3 years, etc.) and maintain the criteria as per company policy at all times.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking highly preferred.
Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and related state law confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test, and receive the Certification of Compliance.
Strong motivation to learn, particularly short-term individual and group therapy skills. Capacity for self-examination, self-disclosure, and ability to empathize are essential.
Be able and willing to work at least one evening (until 7pm) per week. More may be needed to meet productivity expectation.
Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
Interacting with other employees at work is an essential function of the job.
Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.
Computer skills and knowledge of community resources. Experience with children and families.

Responsibilities

Provides individual, group, conjoint, and family psychotherapy, both short and long term, to eligible Transition Age Youth (adolescents and young adults) and their families in the clinic, at times in the school setting, and in the home setting.
Completes psychosocial assessments with TAY young/young adults and families.
Links eligible children and their families with additional community based therapeutic and supportive clinical services as required.
Participates in case planning and case disposition meetings with other Center staff, consulting psychiatrists, and counselors/case managers as applicable.
Completes clinical documentation, according to established timeframes.
Maintains at least the required productivity level of 78 hours/month on a consistent basis.
Maintains an updated schedule reflected in both Outlook and Exym.
Rapidly assumes clinical and quality assurance responsibilities as assigned.
Participates in weekly staff meetings, weekly individual and group clinical supervisions.
Attends skills training as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
