Full-time position as Mental Health Assistant (crisis stabilization worker) for adults with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. Under the guidance of a lead clinician, Mental Health Assistant provides support and crisis stabilization services to people with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in office- and community-based setting. Mental Health Assistant supports people who divert from psychiatric hospitalization and enhances supports after psychiatric hospitalization for optimal recovery. Mental Health Assistant provides supportive community services such as assisting and teaching a consumer to obtain housing, employment, medical care, transportation, recreation, financial benefits and other available entitlements. Mental Health Assistant will have significant focus on housing services as well. Mental health worker must function well as part of a team and have good knowledge of community resources. Services are provided in home, community, and office settings under the supervision of Program Director and Program Coordinator and the guidance of the lead clinician.
