About The Position

As a Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will provide for the physical and emotional needs of the clients assigned to your cottage and facilitate a healthy group living experience. You will also participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients. This position is a great start to gain experience in the mental health/social services fields. KVC is a nonprofit child placing and behavioral health agency with a long legacy of compassionately serving children and families. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Class E driver's license with good driving record
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent time management
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Word, Excel, and e-mail applications proficiency
  • Must be 21 years old to apply
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required

Responsibilities

  • Provide for the physical and emotional needs of clients, including providing meals and snacks, assisting with personal care, monitoring medication, and intervening in crisis situations
  • Facilitate a healthy group living experience, including creating a positive and supportive environment, managing conflict, and enforcing house rules
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients, including attending treatment team meetings, providing input on treatment plans, and implementing treatment plans
