About the Membership Department The Met’s Membership program is one of the largest in the world and includes approximately 140,000 loyal Members from around the globe. Members give $90 to $50,000 annually and collectively contribute more than $30MM per year. The Membership program is experiencing rapid growth and change as it rebounds from the pandemic, innovates its operations, and prioritizes diversity, inclusion, equity, and access. The Membership Marketing team is responsible for all Membership and Annual Fund revenue, including $28MM for Membership renewals, acquisitions, and upgrades; as well as $5MM for the Annual Fund, which includes Member and non-Member gifts to The Fund for The Met. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES: Reporting to the Manager, Membership Retention, you will support the renewal marketing efforts of one of the world’s largest museum membership programs. You will assist with coordinating, designing, and implementing direct marketing campaigns that fit within a larger Membership marketing strategy. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong project manager. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at both written and verbal communication. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Excellent proofreading skills, attention to detail, and drive to meet all production deadlines are a must.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Basecamp, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with Tessitura or similar fundraising software is preferred
  • Experience with InDesign and Photoshop is preferred
  • Experience in project management, working in production, fundraising databases and/or arts and cultural institutions is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and implementation of the Membership retention marketing strategy to meet ambitious goals and raise more than $27MM each year.
  • Assist with the development of multichannel marketing campaigns (including print, email, digital, telemarketing, texting, and on-site channels) to retain and increase annual support.
  • Manage production calendars, develop creative, draft and review copy, and liaise with internal and external partners to create compelling campaign efforts across all channels.
  • Coordinate with Development, Design, Marketing, and Print Services Departments, among other internal departments and outside vendors, to ensure the timely production and approval of printed and digital materials and designs; assist with the development and design of these marketing materials, including mail, email, paid digital, onsite and more.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) review during the approval process and share final assets and launch details with necessary internal partners.
  • In partnership with the Membership Marketing team, track key performance indicators (KPIs), optimize channel performance, and assist with the analysis of past campaign data to enhance response rates.
  • Research, identify, and propose marketing opportunities within existing or underperforming audience segments.
