We’re seeking a dynamic, people-first leader to serve as our Membership Director. Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams to deliver exceptional member experiences
  • Experience growing membership and retention through relationship-building and engagement
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating welcoming environments
  • Results-driven with the ability to use data and execute effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 5+ years in membership, sales, or customer experience leadership
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead Membership Growth & Community Impact
  • Drive membership growth and retention through relationship-based strategies
  • Champion cause-driven tours and a listen-first approach to build relationships and deepen engagement
  • Build and steward community partnerships and represent the Y through outreach and events
  • Collaborate with other branch leaders to strengthen the Y’s role as a community hub
  • Create a Welcoming Experience for All
  • Foster a culture where every person feels welcomed, valued, and supportedConnect members to programs and opportunities that support their goals and well-being
  • Ensure welcoming and belonging are reflected in all member interactions and experiences
  • Lead, Coach, and Inspire Your Team
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing membership teamPartner with branch leadership to implement priorities and improve the member experience
