About The Position

Bridge the gap between the classroom and the community! Secure a paid Member Support Internship with Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey this summer, available through the NJ Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program (CAIGP). Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) is seeking a Member Support Intern. Joining the Council’s Member Support team during a critical operational phase, you will prepare for our upcoming membership year by becoming an essential part of our Member Support team, reporting to the Member Support Manager. In this role, you will gain experience with Salesforce—our core case management system—and take an active part in data integrity. This is more than an internship; it is a great exposure to nonprofit services and the complex intersection of business operations and modern data privacy law. Who We Are... GSHNJ is one of four Girl Scout Councils supporting the New Jersey area. We service all of Hudson, Essex, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon, and portions of Middlesex and Warren counties. We operate offices in Newark, Westfield, and North Branch, NJ; and maintain camp properties in Maplewood, Hillsborough, and Middleville, NJ. The Mission... Requirements

  • Ability to work part-time (15-20 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between June 2026 and August 2026.
  • Current NJ undergraduate or graduate student, a recent NJ college graduate (May 2025 – May 2026 graduates), or a permanent NJ resident currently pursuing an undergraduate degree out-of-state.
  • Ability to work accurately with large datasets and recognize patterns or inconsistencies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel) and a high level of comfort learning complex CRM systems.
  • A disciplined approach to data entry and record maintenance.
  • Exceptional precision in executing administrative and technical tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and team collaboration.
  • A collaborative spirit, but also able to work independently.
  • Become a registered member of Girl Scouts and maintain membership for duration of internship.
  • Position is 80% remote; a reliable internet connection is required.
  • Attend an orientation prior to the start of the internship through the Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Communications, Computer and Information Systems, Data Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and use our CRM platform, Salesforce and Hybris, our Assisted Service Mode.
  • Learn to run weekly reports in Salesforce to support Member Support operations.
  • Review, update, and maintain member and troop data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Support compliance efforts related to new and evolving data privacy laws.
  • Assist with archiving outdated data by learning processes to disband troops that have graduated or are no longer continuing.
  • Create shell troops so the team can quickly accommodate new troops that will be forming in the upcoming year.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
