About The Position
North Star Community Credit Union is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and member-focused Member Service Specialist to join our Bottineau team. This role is the first point of contact for our members and plays a key part in delivering exceptional service while supporting their financial success. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, and passionate about building strong member relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service or cash handling experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn financial software systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Nice To Haves
- Experience in banking or financial services
- Sales or cross-selling experience
- Knowledge of credit union products and services
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist members with a positive, professional attitude
- Process daily transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers
- Open and maintain member accounts (checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, etc.)
- Identify member needs and recommend appropriate products and services
- Assist with debit cards, online banking, and other digital services
- Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records
- Resolve member inquiries and concerns efficiently and courteously
- Support branch operations and administrative tasks as needed
