About The Position

The Member Services Clerk oversees the member service process and provides professional, courteous assistance to members in person, by phone, and electronically. This position works closely with the billing department and field service technicians to ensure accurate account management, timely resolution of member inquiries, and an overall positive member experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the member service process from start to finish.
  • Assist members by providing accurate, timely, and professional information.
  • Handle member communications and billing questions in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Collaborate with the billing department and field service technicians to address member needs.
  • Create and track orders for turn-offs, turn-ons, meter checks, and meter repairs.
  • Serve as cashier to receive and process payments for member accounts.
  • Process new account applications and account changes.
  • Review, check, and scan daily work.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls efficiently.
  • Count, balance, and process payments in the cash drawer accurately.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute mail, including researching returned mail for correct addresses.
  • Learn and use Sensus Analytics to assist members and process reads in the office.
  • Discuss meter checks and educate members on procedures for identifying water leaks.
  • Resolve member inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support, train, and back up peers and supervisors as needed.
  • Multitask effectively and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with coworkers and members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or immediate supervisor.
