About this Position: The Member Service Officer is the account specialist at the branch level conducting several member services functions. This includes, opening and closing all types of accounts, processing IRA and HSA withdrawals and contributions, check orders, and assisting members and staff with complex member issues and/or account related questions. Actively cross sells Credit Union services. Performs specific assigned side-jobs including various clerical and receptionist functions and assists other Member Service Officers with duties as required. What You'll Do: Presents and explains Credit Union products and services to members and assists in meeting their financial needs. Opens and closes accounts. Orders checks for members’ accounts. Assists with setting up of online and mobile banking. Processes IRA and HSA transactions and assists branch staff with questions regarding these special accounts. Assists with training tellers on procedures. Provide management with periodic IRA tax payment information. Assist with the administration of the e-doc program as it relates to membership documents. Approves memberships. Reviews all accounts for proper documents and signatures and file as needed. Completes monthly duty reports (dormant, new account, closed account, saving bond, and deceased report). Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves members checking account problems. Takes stop payment orders. Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies, including types of available accounts, interest and dividend rates and other related services. Actively cross sells Credit Union products and services. Works a Saturday rotation on the frontline. Follows all policies and procedures in place for Member Service Representatives and assists the frontline as needed. Maintains and attributes to the Credit Union’s professional reputation. Maintains privacy of member account information. Assists other team members as required. Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns. Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly. Attends meetings as required. Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. Complete all relevant BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) training pertinent to role and demonstrate strict adherence to BSA policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.
