About The Position

As an MBL Senior Loan Officer, you are responsible for administrating and supporting the activities of commercial lending to accomplish Member Business Lending goals and objectives. You develop and maintain a variety of commercial loan accounts that meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to Visions Federal Credit Union at minimal risk. You maintain and service credits within a loan portfolio or assigned portfolio. You handle delinquent loans, problem members and situations, and workout situations. You are encouraged to attend and represent Visions Federal Credit Union at community or business-related functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of finance with at least 3-5 years of member business lending related experience.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proper commercial certifications.
  • Relevant commercial lending experience within credit unions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee commercial loans, personally originated or assigned, opportunities to promote loan growth while safeguarding the assets of the credit union and meeting member service levels.
  • High level of business development and interpersonal skills to communicate and offer credit union loan products and services, and effectively and represent the credit union in a positive manner.
  • Develop new business with an emphasis on cross-selling Visions FCU products and services.
  • Conduct credit interviews and investigations for prospective and existing credit members.
  • Collect relevant data to determine the general creditworthiness of existing members and prospects and the merits of a specific loan request.
  • Structure loan terms and conditions that meet the member’s needs and the credit union’s lending guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain the maintenance and servicing of the MBL portfolio.
  • Proactively monitor the completion of required annual reviews, maturing loans, and delinquent loans.
  • Serve as the primary contact officer on commercial loans, personally originated or assigned.
  • Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and managing a commercial loan portfolio up to, or in excess of $60,000,000 in size.
  • Collect past due loans, identify, classify and workout deteriorating loans.
  • Expand documentation fee income production for new loan origination.
  • Drive non-interest income to increase ROA for MBL originations.
  • Grow the deposit balance production for new or existing MBL lending relationships.
  • Actively involved in the business deposit decisions to grow our overall balances sustainably.
  • Undertake special projects relating to departmental services as assigned by the Director of MBL Sales.
  • Participate in community affairs to contribute expertise, better understand the needs of the business community, increase Visions Federal Credit Unions visibility, and enhance new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide assistance to other Member Business Loan Officers.
  • Assist Director of MBL Sales in compiling various report requirements, per standards set by the credit union and NCUA.
  • Provides departmental back-up coverage as needed.
  • Respond effectively to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends, strategies, and other processes.
