About The Position

The member business loan processor supports the credit union’s commercial lending activities, by processing, documenting, and coordinating all aspects of member business loan applications (MBL). The role ensures completeness of loan files, accuracy of required documentation, and timely communication with members and internal teams. Must adhere to compliance with credit union policies, NCUA regulations and SBA (Small Business Loans) guidelines. Assists with managing the member business loan portfolio. Responsible for completing documentation requirements for annual reviews and renewals. Assist with collections of member business accounts. Receive, review, and submit necessary documentation for processing commercial loan applications (term loans, commercial real estate, lines of credit, equipment loans, and business vehicle loans) with third party vendor. Prepare application files for underwriting; verify completeness, gather missing documentation, and track outstanding items. Serve as primary liaison between the credit union and the (MBFS) Member Business Financial Services CUSO. Assist with collecting business financial statements, tax returns, entity documents, personal financial statements, and collateral information. Ensure loan packages meet internal credit policy standards and NCUA Part 723 requirements for member business lending. Complete post-closing file audits and ensure proper scanning, naming, and storage in the electronic document system. Serve as the primary point of contact for members throughout the process. Communicate updates, request information, and clarify requirements when applicable. Represents the credit union at various functions to develop and maintain business relationships.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in lending, in either a credit union or bank environment, commercial loan processing preferred
  • Ability to understand business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Familiar with commercial lending concepts
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation completeness
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Time management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and technology
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Ability to use a computer, phone and office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate via phone or electronic channels.
  • Occasional travel to local branches, members, or vendors within our field of membership
  • Occasional travel to credit union functions.
