About The Position

Kitsap Credit Union is actively hiring for Member Associate I, II and III (teller/personal banker) positions all over the Kitsap area, including: Our East Bremerton branch. These positions are responsible for creating exceptional member experience while processing transactions, as well as offering and demonstrating all-digital, remote and self-service options.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of Financial Institution experience with New Accounts and Consumer Lending experience ( HE/HELOC experience preferred but not required)
  • 1 year of cash handling, customer service, and/or retail sales experience
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations
  • Must be able to work Saturdays and extended business hours
  • Ability to work in-person at branches throughout Kitsap, Mason, and Pierce County
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
  • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Assist members with their financial needs and transactions.
  • Identify, develop, and refer business relationships to build market position.
  • Educate and introduce current and new members to new products and services and assist in self-service options.
  • Foster and maintain constructive member relationships.
  • Review and maintain knowledge of products.
  • Understand and recommend products and services based on the member’s needs.
  • Participate in sales and community events to contribute to branch and credit union goals.
  • Use effective sales techniques that result in a positive member experience and meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to operational, regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
  • Accept and process all financial transactions accurately.
  • Maintain responsibility and follows proper balancing procedures.
  • Promote and effectively demonstrate digital, remote and self-serve options, with continual education as new products and digital services are introduced.
  • Proactively generate new memberships through branch sales activities.
  • Identify and contribute new ideas and methods to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and procedures
  • Meet or exceed referral and sales goals
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior team members
  • Assist members and non-members in opening share, new accounts, and basic lending
