As a Melt Operator, you are at the heart of our foundry's process. You'll be responsible for transforming raw materials into the high-quality molten metal that forms the foundation of all our products. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Safety-First Mindset: A strong commitment to working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: You are comfortable working with machinery and have a good sense of how things work.
  • Attention to Detail: You understand that accuracy, like reading temperatures and collecting samples, is critical to quality.
  • Team Player: You have strong communication skills and work well with others.
  • Eager to Learn: You have a willingness to learn new skills, cross-train, and follow instructions from various team members.
  • The ability to work in a non-climate-controlled foundry environment, which may be hot and noisy.
  • The ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • The ability to regularly lift, push, and pull objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • The ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and heat-resistant gear.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain five coreless induction furnaces.
  • Operate an overhead crane to transport metal from the staging area to the furnaces.
  • Skim slag and remove excess metal from equipment using hand tools.
  • Precisely transport molten metal from furnaces to transfer ladles.
  • Accurately monitor and read temperature gauges to ensure product quality.
  • Collect metal samples for analysis by our quality team.
  • Communicate clearly with your shift supervisor and team members to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
