About The Position

Are you an experienced Automotive Truck Technician, Diesel Technician, Motorhome, or RV Technician? At Sunset Ford, we're hiring Service Technicians to join our team and help capture the increase in demand for the maintenance and repair of these larger Ford vehicles. If you expect a Clean shop with New tools and New lifts, we've got it! We encourage you to stop by and check us out. In 2021 we converted our high ceiling body shop to a large functioning truck shop with three Rotary 20,000 lbs two post lifts, a new 12k 3-stage arm lift, and a set of new (4) column mobile lifts with a capacity of 56,000 lbs. Requirements

Previous experience as a Service Technician
Understanding of and ability to repair large trucks and diesel powertrain
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Ability to learn quickly and provide top-notch customer service
Basic Computer Skills
Great teammate
Clean and valid driver’s license
Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
Applicants are willing to submit to a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
Inspects vehicle for safety and maintenance needs such as worn brakes or tires.
Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Obtains certifications and training expectations from Ford Motor Company
Provides detailed documentation on repair order to claim warranty properly from Ford
Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean
Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
