Candidates must already have (or be enrolled) in the additional Medication Administration Aide training required for working in a nursing home. CBRF/AL medication training does not qualify. $20.00-$23.00 per hour Hiring bonus available. Shift differential for PM and NOC shifts Current openings: Full Time AM ( 6:00 AM- 2:00 PM) and Full Time PM (2:00 PM-10:00 PM) JOB SUMMARY: The Medication Administration Assistant, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, prepares, administers and records medications as directed and per policy.

  • Minimum age of 18 years old is required.
  • High school graduate or high school equivalency diploma.
  • Successful completion and certification of the State of Wisconsin approved Mediation Administration Assistant training program.
  • Be current on the State of Wisconsin nurse aide directory.
  • Be current on the federal nurse aid directory.
  • Current CPR Certification and ability to maintain.
  • A Licensed Practical Nurse may be employed as a Medication Administration Assistant when successfully completing the required educational units annually and maintaining licensure with the State of Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
  • Administers medications as prescribed and per healthcare policy.
  • Performs all necessary related functions, such as blood pressure checks and pulses in conjunction with the medication pass as needed.
  • Communicates changes in a resident’s condition to the nurse immediately and accurately.
  • Successfully completes required educational units annually.
  • Attends training sessions, staff meeting and in-services to stay current with information regarding drug therapies and healthcare processes.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
