Curana Health is seeking an outgoing, driven, and results-oriented professional to join our growing Medicare Advantage sales team as a Medicare Benefit Consultant (MBC). This field-based role is responsible for educating and enrolling Medicare beneficiaries residing in senior living communities into Special Needs Plans (ISNP/IESNP/MAPD). Sales and enrollment activities are conducted both from a home office and onsite at senior living and housing communities. This position is based in Virginia and requires frequent statewide travel. The individual in this role will independently manage their territory, including travel planning and scheduling.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize objectives in an everchanging and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the current Medicare industry and trends.
  • Proactive servicing approach.
  • Superior organization skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency in responding to client matters on time.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • 3+ years of sales or customer service experience with a strong focus on identifying and meeting customer needs.
  • Sales experience in a B2C or B2B setting or experience working in a senior living community.
  • Appropriate state insurance licensure within 30 days of hire date or the ability to obtain.
  • Ability to maintain licensure and product certification based on policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a state driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability at public speaking required.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and place cold calls to prospects is required.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Demonstrated account management skills (including planning, documentation, and measurement).
  • Ability to travel 90% throughout the designated local territory.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds of collateral material required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in business development, account management, hospice, medical sales, social work, senior living community admissions, case management, or senior guardians preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales appointments to educate and enroll Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Prospect, develop, and grow a statewide territory to drive enrollment, retention, and market penetration.
  • Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with senior living staff, agencies, and community organizations serving the Medicare population.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and sustain effective business relationships within the assigned territory.
  • Identify customer needs and present plan options using consultative and traditional sales strategies, clearly communicating features and benefits.
  • Deliver plan education sessions and training to partner staff to support and drive sales efforts.
  • Generate enrollments in alignment with established territory targets and consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience throughout all phases of the enrollment lifecycle.
  • Respond to and resolve member inquiries, including questions related to benefits and eligibility.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Medicare Marketing Guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document all sales activities, customer interactions, and enrollments within CRM systems
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in all plans and products within the assigned book of business.
  • Independently manage daily activities, schedule, and territory to ensure all sales and service standards are met.
  • Utilize strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to overcome objections and close sales.
  • Maintain a goal-oriented, competitive, and self-motivated approach to achieving sales objectives.
