About The Position

General Summary:

Transcribes doctor’s notes and dictation.

Works under the supervision of the Radiology Director.

Requirements

• Medical terminology knowledge and the ability to interpret verbal information required.
• Must be familiar with computers.
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
• Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures
• Graduate of a technical school medical transcription program, equivalent program or a minimum of three years of experience in multispecialty field.

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical transcriptionist experience and the ability to type at least 60 wpm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and in a timely manner transcribes from doctor’s notes and dictation.
• Listens to voice recordings from radiologists and converts them into accurate, written reports.
• Proofreads all material prior to submission.
• Details all material on cassettes.
• Prepares print reports.
• Types documents as requested.
• Performs various clerical duties to assist the department as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
