About The Position

As a Medical Transcriber, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of medical documentation that directly supports patient care and clinical excellence. Position Overview The main role of this position is to provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient daily operation of the pathology laboratory. This role supports pathologists, laboratory leadership, and technical staff by coordinating office functions, managing documentation, and facilitating communication within the department and with external partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Professionalism and discretion
  • Strong time management and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a pathology, laboratory, or healthcare setting
  • Experience with hospital or laboratory information systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support for the pathology laboratory
  • Answer and route calls and emails; respond to inquiries in a professional manner
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate laboratory and departmental records
  • Process reports, correspondence, and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Assist with specimen, case, or report tracking and filling.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and calendar updates for the laboratory
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies
  • Utilize hospital systems and Microsoft Office applications to support workflow efficiency
