About The Position
FlexStaff is hiring a Temp to Perm Med Tech to join our clients, Team. This is a night shift into evening rotating role working in the Blood Bank Department in a Hospital Setting. Hours: Monday-Friday 12:00a.m to 8: 00p.m (time varies) with alternating weekends. Position Summary: Utilizes independent judgment in performing both routine and complex laboratory tests for physician's use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Works with minimal supervision. Assists in providing guidance and instruction to new employees, students as scheduled
Requirements
- minimum formal education of associate degree or certification equivalent
- minimum of 1-year job-related experience
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Registration, or Cert. Required
Nice To Haves
- Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a related field plus, 1 year training (6 months in Blood Bank) and 1-2 years' experience or hold applicable NYC CQ as of 6/30/94 and has worked as a medical technologist at least 3 years since 1989
- Board-registered with one of national registries associated with laboratory practice (NCA, ASCP, etc.) preferred.
