About The Position

Performs various chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Applies techniques used in the field of blood banking, hematology, serology, chemistry and morphological examinations. Records test results, quality control, remedial action and may also engage in research.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training.
• Applicants without current certification must take and pass the ASCP, NCA (MLT, MT, MLS or CLS) or equivalent exam within 6 months of hire
• Must have at least 3 months of training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing. Training may include previous employment, on-site or as part of an education curriculum.
• Skills: Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word.
