About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a permanent opportunity in Brooksville, Florida. This role supports a hospital-based laboratory environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Medical Technologist performs routine and STAT clinical laboratory testing across multiple technical disciplines while exercising independent judgment to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results. This position plays a critical role in supporting patient care, quality outcomes, and laboratory operations. Under the direction of laboratory leadership, the Medical Technologist performs testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology sections, maintains licensure and competency requirements, and follows all written procedures and regulatory standards. Responsibilities also include specimen collection and processing as needed, quality control monitoring, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, proficiency testing, documentation accuracy, and supporting departmental goals related to service excellence, patient safety, and operational performance. Employment Details: This is a permanent, full-time position with rotating weekends. Evening and night shifts are available, including 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shift options. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and covering multiple laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree required
  • State of Florida Medical Technologist license required or ability to obtain during interview process
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Technologist
  • Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist experience required
  • Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and cover multiple areas of the laboratory
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology preferred
