Medical Technician III
About The Position
The Medical Technician III (Certified Nursing Assistant) provides direct patient care in a 75-bed inpatient hospital, supporting medical staff and assisting with patient self-care tasks, such as hygiene, feeding, and taking vital signs. Responsibilities include transporting patients, preparing rooms, assisting in therapeutic activities, and maintaining unit equipment. The role involves limited supervision and requires initiative and judgment. Additionally, the technician may drive state vehicles for patient transport, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and reporting any issues, while following Department of Health policies.
Requirements
- Texas Nurse’s Aide Certificate.
- Must possess valid Texas driver’s license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date. Applicants with an out-of-state driver’s license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy.
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred.
- Certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) required.
- Experience in health care or patient care work preferably in hospital setting.
- Current CPR.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience in the operation of motor vehicles on a commercial basis.
